Marketing  348 Week 2

As I take a look at the Hubspot study guide a few things stand out one of the things I noticed right away was why it is important to optimize your website, I read that optimization is the act, process or methodology of making something as fully perfect or perfect as possible. As I work closely with The company Stick Handler I realize that our website needs to be fully functional and user friendly, changes are always happening to a website and ours needs to look and feel like the cutting edge. Hubspot has taught me that it is extremely important to have a user friendly and easy accessible website. Having the best website you can provide is the best thing a company can ask for, people come to a website and can decide if they want to stay or leave your page in under 2 seconds. Understanding buyer’s personas is a very important thing when it comes to creating a new website.  The more appealing your companys website is the better chance you have at keeping the potential customer on your page.

The reason you want to keep the potential customer on your site is for the simple fact that you would like them to make a purchase. The best way to generate sales on line is to have an easy access website the better your website is the better chance you have at getting the consumer to buy online. Online buying is becoming more and more popular, consumers have the opportunity to phurachaes products from the comfort of their own home and are taking advantage of it.

Marketing 348 Week 1

Search engine optimization or SEO is something that can drive a business to the top. I am learning first hand that this is something that if used correctly can propel the company I work for to the top of the industry. Getting a company to the first page of a search engine is irreplaceable to a company looking to have the most business and sales from potential customers. When people use a search engine they are generally looking for the fastest answer or best way to get what they are looking for. Companies use key terms or Meta tags on their website that Cohen side with what the user is searching for. For example if someone is searching for soda, the biggest name companies like Pepsi or Coca-Cola are going to come up because those are the top dogs in the soda industry. I am learning that it is also possible to pay or advertise your company on any search engine; the search engine will go by how many clicks, or how many people actually go and visit your website. There are so many ways I could use this to my advantage with the company that I work with, I feel as if I need to know a couple things to help me have a better understand with the whole SEO concept. First I feel that is extremely important for me to know how to write and understand code. I’m not saying that I am going to start creating my own websites; I just feel that It will help me have a better understanding of how my website runs alongside with SEO. Knowing how to write code will give me an upper hand in the majority of work that I will be dealing with and is something I would like to know going forward in the future. Having any advantage I can to put onto a LinkedIn page or resume will help me in the long run, I do not know what the future holds as a marketing major the styles of marketing change so often that I feel it is important to be extremely well rounded. The besting and most important thing I need to understand is how to use the tags to my advantage, and what is going too far where the tags become irrelevant.  This is something that I would like to go into extreme detail with, because from my understanding if you do not want to pay the advertising fee, the Meta tags are what all of the search engines go by when they are bringing up a search.

Marketing 349 Week 1

Understanding the ins and outs of Google ad words will be one of the most important things that I can take away from this marketing 349 class, the company I work for is right at the point where advertising is going to start making us a lot more money. As of now all of our advertising is done organically through Facebook, Twitter and Google plus. That means there is not one single dollar invested into a marketing budget, which is something that needs to change soon. By using the class budget of a Mir $25, this is going to help me understand how to use Google ad words effectively. The better I am with this the better I will be able to effectively target the right market for our product.  Paying per click just to get someone to our website is going to help out tremendously, we are averaging a low number of people right now but I’m sure once we have a small budget it will only increase. I will monitor how much sales go up and correlate them with how many clicks we are receiving. This will give me a true understanding and I will actually be able to tell if paying for clicks will actually boost sales in our company. I would really just like to have a total overview of everything this program has to offer and I would like to be fluent in all of those areas. As of now I went to Google ad words and tried to create an account, they are already asking for my credit card. I would like to see if they will give me any free ad money to start with before I go spending anything, Almost like a test to see if this actually works. So getting any sort of free trial would be very beneficial in my case.
